SMX1000 and SMX1500 battery cartridges

This was originally posted on APC forums on 9/25/2015

Is there an actual difference in the APC battery cartridges between CURK115 and CURK116?  They appear to have the same "thumbnail" picture and the same size, weight, etc.?  Are the operating voltages and connectors the same?

Thanks Jordan - so I guess the question is, if I needed to switch battery packs to keep one unit running in an emergency, could I physically do that?  I'm getting the impression that the higher wattage units use the 9AH batteries and the lower capacity units use the 7-7.5 AH batteries - both being the same case size.

Hi Mark,

The 115 is for units - SMX1500RM2U, SMX1500RM2UNC

The 116 is for units - SMX1000, SMX750

The 115 is indeed a different "High-Rate" battery necessary for the larger 1500VA units.
