Say, hd has rhe green one for $20 less, any concerns going that route vs the orange?? Did some googling and they seem to be the same.
Also, is a separate breaker preferred vs piggy backing for power? Thanks much for your time

Hi @david362 ,
Thanks for your post.
The Green version is same as the Orange Sense version functionality wise. However, the users of the Green version of the monitor would be transitioned to Schneider and specifically the Schneider Home app because the Wiser Energy Monitor is a Schneider Electric product.

This is true, sort of, but you have to ask yourself... is it? The current Wiser Energy app is solely based off of an extremely old (from several years ago) version of the Sense app but with some limited Wiser integrations. When I received my Wiser Energy Monitor I was told to use the Sense app and that the 2 monitors were the same except what I mentioned above. Then the Wiser Energy app appeared... a firmware update was pushed to force all Wiser users to use the Wiser Energy app and the Sense Monitor users use the Sense app. All fine and dandy, but the Wiser Energy app appears to have been abandoned. And the Sense app continues to receive fixes and updates.
Now, the Wiser Energy people are being forced to transition to the Schneider Home app. What a catastrophic nightmare this has been. My monitor is currently locked out and I'm still waiting from the app team to find a fix. At the moment it is a useless monitor, actually more like a brick... and it isn't even a good brick!
I've read of many users that have waited weeks for support trying to get their monitors working with little to no success or help from support. Mind you these monitors worked fine with the Wiser Energy app. The people I have read about that have gotten the Schneider Home app up and running with there monitors say the app is an absolute nightmare and very buggy.
However, the users of the Green version of the monitor would be transitioned to Schneider and specifically the Schneider Home app since Sense is no longer in the Monitor business.
This entire quote bothers me. Please tell me why Schneider doesn't just let the current users stay on the older app for a while, maybe a few more years wouldn't hurt, the current app is vintage but at least it is functional. Let the beta team test the buggy beta software, or maybe it's still in alpha, judging my the posts i've read it's not very good. At lease get the login and setup to work!!!
Could you please direct me to the source of your statement regarding Sense no longer being the Monitor Business? I'd like to read up on it.
For the record I got my new Sense Monitor the other day. Setup was painless and it works great.
Happy Monitoring.
ffk.

Why would you say Sense is no longer in the monitor business ? They still have a direct to consumer monitor business via their website and Amazon. And it seems like the current Sense product. works far better than the new Schneider Home app.
Users of the transitioned Wiser monitors are complaining horribly over here:

@David_SE When will the new Schneider Home app actually work? I have been using it for a few days now, but the accuracy is nonexistent, the API is broken for the rest of my automation, Home Assistant, the trending is useless, I can go on and on about how worthless this is compared to the old Sense app. The measured kWh is off by ~40 kWh to actually usage logged in this app per day. Can we get some answers before going and buying a new Sense monitor so I can depend on a product to deliver what it advertises.

The energy usage readings in the Schneider Home app are not accurate. I purchased this product to get an accurate representation of energy usage in my home. Therefore, the “green” device in its current state is useless to me. The Wiser app was good and the energy usage in this app was accurate. Why not make the Wiser app usable until the issues with the Schneider Home app are resolved?

@David_SE I have an open support Case 117517288. No one will answer there either. As stated before, this new Schneider Home app is worth less. I had integration into my Home Assistant for load shedding that now doesn't function. The previous app allowed for viewing long-term and instantaneous usage in the Power Meter view for energy consumption....gone. Can we get some comment about when we will be getting functions back into this product? $350 is a lot to spend for a brick.

@ffk , great review. Schneider has a long way to go before the Schneider Home app catches up with the Wiser Home Energy Monitor app. Why did they cut over before offering parity wit the app they were replacing ?

The Wiser to Schneider transition is a mess. Monday at about 23:45 the Wiser energy monitor went offline. I spent most of the day Tuesday trying to get it back up. In the process I had to install the Schneider app. This is the first I heard of the transition. The app starts and says the energy monitor is connected to the internet then fails to register the energy monitor. So it wants to go through the power cycle connect to the internal WAP and it fails to find any WIFI networks, which includes the WIFI network it was just connected to. Wednesday morning I get the transition email (48 hours late). So Schneider management completely mismanaged the transition. Maybe send an email about this transition a month or so ahead of time as a heads up, so we can decide if we want to go through this beta test process. No they decided to disable a working product with no notice then force their customers to install a poorly tested application. No thanks I turned the green thing off and deleted my account. Amazon will deliver the Sense energy monitor today.
