Hi Community
I am currently trying to update the firmware of my SCADAPack using GeoSCADA however having issues with this. I have also tried with the 57x but get the same problem. The request always times out as seen in attachments. Anyone know what could cause this and how i could solve it. I have the scadapack directly connected to my PC just to rule out any coms issues.

What are your current versions of Bootloader and Firmware, and which version of Bootloader / Firmware are you going to?
I would generally recommend using RemoteConnect to do the first firmware version upgrade (from base to new) just to make sure that the process will actually work without problem.
The GeoSCADA Expert process is pretty basic, and it doesn't provide much indication of errors.
It really just does a DNP3 file transfer, and then a reboot firmware upgrade command.
If anything goes wrong in that, GeoSCADA Expert wouldn't know. But RemoteConnect would have a better idea.
It's possible you're trying to upgrade to a firmware version that doesn't match your bootloader version, and hence it's refusing to upgrade.

Hi Bevan, I did try through Remote connect and it worked perfectly.
I then tried again through GeoSCADA and it did not work. But bare in mind that the versions would be the same now. I'm assuming that if the versions are the same then it would not be able to update - Am I correct about this?
Are there any ways on GeoSCADA directly to see any error code.

GeoSCADA Expert is restricted by the DNP3 protocol around this.. so there's very little diagnostic information available on this.
That's why it's generally better to do the first couple of firmware upgrades via RemoteConnect, and then confirm on a bench test that the firmware upgrade will work through GeoSCADA Expert.
That's correct that if the version is the same it wouldn't like that. Many new firmware versions can't be downgraded either (for secuity reasons generally..), so that would cause a failure, but without much in the way of diagnostics.
