_____________
The E Series licensed radios have a modulation type called 2 level Non Packet mode. This type is chosen under one of two circumstances.
1) The user wishes to communicate using SEL Mirrored Bits protocol. This mode reduces latency to a minimum. (approximately 7ms)
2) The user wishes to use the radio to communicate with MDS 4710B radios. (only the 4710B is supported, no other, but this is a very common type)
Certain features are disabled in this mode: - Port B - No Flow Control mode (Hardware Handshaking required) - Over the air diagnostics (local diagnostics does work) - Repeat and Translate functions (Store & Forward can be done if an external loopback plug is used) - 128 bit AES Encryption - Remote programming - Collision Avoidance - Transmit Auto on Data (must use RTS)
