[Imported] E and M Series Licensed Radio modulation types

**9600 12.5K FCC 4 level** This modulation is selected when you want the fastest (ie: lowest latency) modulation that uses 4 Level FSK. It supports all of the E Series Features and has the fastest turn-around time. However, you would only use it in an E Series Only system.
**9600 12.5K M Series** This modulation is selected when you want compatibility with the 003 model of M Series radio. The E Series needs to slow down it's turn-around time to match the slightly slower speed of the M Series. The over the air data rate is still 9600. The modulation type is 3 level, to match the M Series.
**9600 12.5K FCC 2 Level Non-Packet** This modulation is selected when you want compatibility with MDS 4710B radios, or if you want a very low latency radio (required for protocols like SEL mirrored bits). However, this modulation does not support the advanced features of the E series (like Stream Routing and Repeating).

bp21901: Joel, Do I understand the third modulation selection to mean that the ScadaWave radio can be used with MDS 4710B radios already deployed? Is there any configuration setting on the 4710B that needs to be done? Thanks, Bob_**

**_jweder: Yes, that is correct. If you have a field of MDS 4710B's, you can add E Series radios. No change need be made in the existing radios. Just set the new E Series radio modulation to "9600 12.5kHz FCC 2 Level Non Packet" mode. The one issue that results is that the new E Series radios will not report to any MDS diagnostics software. This modulation method will unfortunately not work with the MDS 4710A or 4710C, or any other model of MDS radio. Just the 4710B. But there are many of these radios installed, so it's a nice feature to have._**
