1. windows version 7 pro 6.1 build 7601 service pack 1
2. a previous version of RemoteConnect was installed on this machine and removed prior to installing this version.
3. installation of 2.1.1 appears to complete successfully
4. on starting RemoteConnect a dialog appears stating that the DTM catalog appears to be outdated and would you like to update it now.
5. selecting Yes the dialog is replaced with another on stating that it is updating the catalog and the progress bar goes to 100% but the dialog does not close. leaving the machine for some time does not result in any change and the only way to recover is to press the cancel button. every time remoteconnect is started the update catalog dialog appears.
6. what is causing this and how to I either stop it from thinking that the catalog needs updating or get it to complete the update?

Have you tried closing RemoteConnect and using the Process Scrubber?
I'm running RemoteConnect in a Win10-64 VM with no issues in DTM Catalogue

This is a known issue. To update the DTM requires administrative privileges.
I've already raised this as a ticket to Schneider support, with the hope that they either request elevated privileges to perform the action, or that they integrate the DTM upgrade with the installation itself which already requires elevated privileges.
