Hi - There are different ways you can do it. Below a simple way for Modbus RTU.
Solution with a Modbus Scanner at SCADAPack E Configurator
Ports - Configure your Port as Modbus Master(Modbus RTU), Mode RS485 2W and set the correct baud rate for your device.
Master/Modbus Scanner - Add a Device. Select the Device Type: Modbus Serial RTU, enter the Device Address, select the port that you configured and once you have that you can Add Points based on the Modbus registers of your device.
i.e. Operation:Read/Write, Modbus Data Type:INT, Modbus Register: Check the modbus registers for the device, DNP Point Type:Analog Output, DNP Point Number:20001(any number from 0-49999), DNP Point Qty:1(if they are consecutive single registers you can make up to 2000 points changing this).
Once you created the Device some points get created automatically. Go to your Analog Points and look for the one that says CommunicationStatus, if you read the point and get a 3 that means that there is no communication, a 4 is good comms.

Try to get the latest version of the E Configurator (8.14.6) because older versions had some issues with the modbus scanners.
I don't know if the ISaGRAF 3.5 support the E Series SCADAPacks. I suggest to move to the SCADApack Workbench 6.5. There is another way to read the Device I/O from the Workbench resource.

Hello,
I’ve followed all the recommended steps for this solution, but I'm still having an issue: only the number 3 appears in communicationStatus instead of the number 4. Any idea what might be happening?

Physically, everything seems to be properly connected and configured, so I suspect the issue is related to the software, specifically with the SCADAPack Configurator. I’m using the latest version to communicate with my SCADAPack 535 E.

Hi Ruben,

As you say you have followed all the basic instructions but your communication is still not working, it would be best if you contact our global support team for more detailed assistance. Here is how to find the correct support team:

- On the se.com website, select your country or region using the button in the upper-left corner.
For example > Latin America > Venezuela

- Open the Products menu and select Automatizacion y control industrial  (Industrial Automation & Control)

- Over to the right side, select Telemetria y Sistemas SCADA remoto  (Telemetry & Remote SCADA Systems)

- Select the SCADAPack Smart RTU option

- Click the green Support Center icon in the lower right area and choose Talk to an Expert
