[Imported] Convert Isagraf 3.5 program to Scadapack Workbench

>>Message imported from previous forum - Category:SCADAPack RTU<<
User: Cesarin, originally posted: 2018-11-23 06:19:56 Id:325
I have an application in Isagraf 3.5 (.pia file) and it is installed in a Scadapack ES. I want to upgrade the hardware to Scadapack 357E and convert the program to Scadapack Workbench. So I have few questions:

1. Since the existing hardware is Scadapack ES, do I need a configuration file (Scadapack E Configurator) in addition to the .pia file or Isagraf already have the configuration?
2. How do I convert the .pia file to Scadapack Workbench target 5? So far I was able convert the .pia file to Scadapack Workbench target 3. But when I compile the program it give some errors due to some functions blocks are part of Target 5 only.
3. Is it possible to convert a Scadapack Workbench target 3 program to target 5?

Thanks.

You always require a separate isagraf configuration file for the SCADAPacks, this applies to the old Isagraf3.5 and to Workbench.

Unfortunately, there is no way to automatically convert a target 3 application to a target 5 application, but there are some techniques to make a manual conversion easier.

Attached is the conversion guide, which gives the basic details on how to do the conversion. The biggest pain that I found was redoing the I/O configuration. You may be able to save some time on this by setting up the I/O boards (empty), configuring the variable wiring in the spreadsheet of exported variables, then reimporting the variables.

Thanks Dmercer. I did some progress moving the program to Target 5. Now I'm looking at the SP E configurator and wonder if there is a way to export/import Points. I have the existing Scadapack ES configuration file.

Thanks

The configurator files can be opened in a text editor. You can copy and past the point configuration between them that way.

Eg.
PC DU
RN 2070
PDC C1B CL CL
MRA 2070 1 0
LGT N
TE
is a binary point

RN 12604
OBT 40 1
PDC C0S CL CL
LGT N N N N N N N N N N
TE
is an analog point

PC CI
RN 0
TE
is a counter point

That trick is handy. I got another question. I created my own function block in SP Workbench. Basicalli copying valuues from one variable to another. But there is one where I need to use a standar function block (addition). The program is compiled with no errors. The program is downloaled into the RTU with no errors as well. But the status LED is flashing and in SP configurator shows error: "Unknown TIC code". And seems it only happens when there is a standard function block in a customized function block.

Hello,

I would like to open up the old backups I have for the E serise RTUs. I have a *.pia and *.X8M files.

I am using windows 10 and can only open SCADA workbench target 5 applications. When I try to open the target 3 applications using ISAGRAF target 3 it shows error "Cant open project IO database". (I am not connected to RTU while I am doing this). Also the RTU has latest firmware.

I read the document to convert the traget 3 applications to target 5 requires the *.hie file. I am not sure how to get *.hie file as I only have *.pia and *.X8M files.

Is there a way to open the *.pia or *.X8M files?

Thank you
