Displaying RSSI values locally at an Outstation

Hello,

I would like to display the RSSI value from a Trio QR450 on a HMI locally at an Outstation. I was hoping I could read these values direct out of the Trio via Modbus but doesn't seem possible after looking through the Trio user manual.

What would be the recommended method to achieve this for the below environment?

This is a new installation and I have not setup nor have experience with the Trio Diagnostics driver in GS yet, however, would I be able Use the Trio Diagnostics in GS and write the RSSI value to a DNP3 AO tag to the Outstation RTU? Seems a bit long winded and was hoping for a more simple solution.

Point to Multipoint Topology

Entry Point:

Trio QP450

DNP3 Master: GeoSCADA 2022

Outstation:

SCADAPack 474

Trio QR450

Schneider HMIST6200 HMI

My apologies for missing this question - I know it's been a while. Geo SCADA is indeed one way to poll the radio diagnostics, though yes this would require you to write the diagnostic values back to the RTU attached to that radio. Using an SNMP Manager software application might be another option for those who don't use Geo SCADA, but it requires the same need to write the diagnostic values back to the RTU.

But I know you want to poll radio diagnostic data directly into the attached RTU, then display it on a local HMI. One option, if you are using a SCADAPack 470i or 474i, is to create a Node-RED application. Node-RED includes nodes that are fairly simple to set up, to do SNMP polling. You'd then be able to display the output on a locally connected HMI if running a web browser.

If not using a 47xi type SCADAPack (with the Linux OS) t may also be possible to write some logic in a 470 or 474 to poll the radio using our Trio eDiags protocol. I'm working with our Trio engineering team to see if a document can be made available discussing the fairly simple protocol.
