PowerLogic T300 - Problems after disabling SC150 LAN port

Hi all,

I have a T300 (HU250 + 3 x SC150) that is interfaced with an RN2c RMU.

I found that, after using the web pages to disable the right-hand LAN port on SC150 #3 as part of port hardening, HU250 lost comms to this SC150 module.

To restore this communication, the only way we found was to:

  1. power cycle the RTU (which restored communications to SC150 #3 but then communications to SC150 #1 and #2 were lost)
  2. then download the configuration again.

Hello,

I would like to post a few comments on this topic to remind some facts (hopefully, this case has been fixed and maybe not concerned by my comments below).

  • port hardening: it is possible to deactivate one of the two LAN ports of a SC150. Pay attention to deactivate of course the unused one and correctly identify SC0x module. In case of problem or old configuration used, there is always at least one RJ45 port active. This is part of the configuration and should not be changed after a power cycle.
  • T300 has experienced loss of LAN issues with version 2.8.4-1635 (fixed by 2.8.4-1679 and later versions). This was cleared by a power cyle of the the RTU.
  • As a good practise, don't forget to always upgrade your T300 with the latest firmware version available.

regards,

  Mathieu.
