Hello
We got a ticket that Yuasa SWL batteries may be coming from Distribution Centers with a long lead time and that factory may stock them for a long period without charging the battery: hence they may be in poor shape when deployed at the customer (meaning: the battery performances will be way less good that a new one).
A solution was proposed to switch to another range of batteries called NPL from Yuasa local factory in China. So the question is: can Easergy PS50 and the future PowerLogic PS60 adapt to different battery range?
NPL battery datasheet enclosed, pls share your comments.
Thanks

Hello Xiaokun,
the PS50/PS60 can be adapted to different battery ranges or capacities through different settings to adapt the charging curve or temperature compensation.
The right question here is to know if the battery is adapted to your architecture.
YUASA NPL range is a general purpose range whereas SWL range (normally used with T300) is for "High Rate". Their main caracteristics look similar but the SWL is more adapted to deliver high current for switch gear operations.
So NPL range can be considered for monitoring architectures. For control, it depends on the motorisation but we have no experience with NPL (especially evolution over time...?). I would not recommand to use it, even to fix lead time issues, because it may shorten the lifetime on site
Mathieu.
