PowerLogic T300 - Getting SOE event time and convertin it to Modbus register

May I ask how to get T300 SC150 (CB OPEN/CLOSE, ES OPEN/CLOSE) SOE event TIME and convert to Modbus and assign it to a Modbus Register address?

As we need to mapping the CB / ES exact OPEN CLOSE TIME and put it on HMIGTO touch screen and this Touch Screen model only supply Modbus TCP.

Many thanks.

The only reason why the customer do not accept using the smartphone / tablet / embedded windows ..etc... is because those OS will release the latest update service pack OS update every months, and under the customer company policy, they must update it for the security reason, and they are not willing to spend the manpower to do  those update every months since there are 15,000+ substations, so they end up with the Schneider GTO series HMI touchscreen since the GTO do not have the OS update issue but it has very limited function.

Correct me if i am wrong that as far as i know Modbus is not a time based protocol that do not have the time stamping on every single TX RX message, only those time stamping data protocol would be supported (IEC104 / DNP3 / IEC61850 /  a proper SCADA on windows... etc).

And also the problem of T300 https web console do not have the ability to do the custom HMI design drawing, lets said my architecture has other devices such as protection relay , M580 PLC, ComX510, Power Meters.....and i cannot draw those on https web because there is no such function.

So here comes my question was    since I had already collected the real time stamp SOE time on the T300 https EVENT log page,     is there any way to get the value from the event log table and brings the string value to the Modbus as a bit word format to transmit the time log to the HMI through modbusTCP.....but it seems no one would do such custom works to get the value this way, but thanks Jean-Yves and appreciate for your reply.

Hi Tony,

The only way to reuse the time-stamping data coming from SC150 open/close control & status is to utilize a SCADA protocol that is fitted with time-stamping feature (and Modbus is not one of them: if you have a time-stamping capability then it is not a standard Modbus version but a proprietary one... and there are many of them with no compatibility between them).

If you really want to have a permanent HMI attached, the only solution to get the source time-stamping data would be to use a HMI model capable of accessing to T300 embedded webserver through HTTPS, or capable to operate with a standard time-stamped protocol.

Can you please describe a bit the architecture and the reason to have a HMI here? Why not use a Smartphone or a tablet to connect in HTTPS via Wifi to the T300 webserver? That would be way more secure than just using Modbus...
