Protection relays and Ethernet/IP protocol

Hi everyone,

We need a Ethernet/IP protocol and IEC61850 protocol on the same protection relay. Difficult part is Ethernet/IP industrial protocol. As far as we know, none SE relays has it these days.

Easergy P3 had it few firmware's back but now it seems it is not included any more.

Because of all his other features (differential protection, arc protection, two Ethernet protocols at same time and so on) it is most qualified for the end customers expectations.

What now we are not sure:

Is it possible to order old firmware of Easergy P3 relays (one that had Ethernet/IP)?

Is there any other way for P3 to have this protocol?

Is there any other SE relay with this protocol? (Vamp had it but it is obsolete now)

If someone have some information that could help it would be appreciated because we talk about the project with over 100+ relays in the first phase.

Also does anyone have suggestion for external protocol  converter (modbus TCP or IEC61850) to  Ethernet/IP?

Best regards,

Dear Ivan,

Ethernet/IP Protocol on Easergy P3 relays were disabled because of security problems detected on the protocol. As far as I know it is still in the firmware but must be activated throughout scripts which should be asked to the global support. But since there'is this problem, the customer must accept the risks.

Since my information is from a few months ago, I supposed @PekkaHAMALAINEN could confirm this information.

About having an alternative within our relays, you could use Easergy P5! I've tested it for applications with IEC61850 and Ethernet/IP here in Brazil and it seems to work perfectly.

Best Regards,
