IEC 61850

Hi everyone.

I have a CID file read from a relay. But the SCADA software i'm using can't import CID file, it just can import SCD file.

I need a software which can convert from CID to SCD file.

Please help me if you can.

Best regards.

Hi,

There is no software which converts CID to SCD. To just change the file name into *.SCD is no good.

Since the SCADA software expects System Configuration Descriptions (SCD), you have to provide this type of configuration file to SCADA. The IED which you are talking of is a part of a system which should have been configured from an SCD. So you need to update the project SCD with the latest IED configuration.

If you read out the IEC 61850 configuration from the IED, then you used a tool to do this: the IED Configuration Tool (ICT). This tool is also in charge of creating Instantiated IED Descriptions (IID) of the IED configurations.

The System Configuration Tool (SCT) which created the SCD is able to import IID. Using the IID you update the project system database and you create a new SCD. This is the file to provide to SCADA.

Best regards

He meant changing the extension of the file directly on your windows folder!

You may also import the CID file in CET850 and then generate the SCD file.

Best Regards
