Dear all,
I have a question regarding the possibily to use PowerLogic T300 to synchronize the clock of local IEDs.
After configurating the IP address of an IED as 192.168.0.4 and the SNTP server as 192.168.0.254, I connect the IED to the second Ethernet LAN port of the 3rd SC150 module (the last module of my T300 hardware configuration). It synchronized but then it losts communication over IEC61850.
My questions are:
- Do I need to configure an IP address of IED to be in the same range as LAN port, or could the IP address be from a different range?
- On which Eternet port do I need to connect the IED (LAN or WAN)?
- What else needs to be set up?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
Milica Dukic

IEDs should be connected to the ETH1 WAN port of the HU250 module (and not to SC150, SC160 or LV150 modules).
Then the IED should be configured to get time synchronization from a router, or via SNTP from the HU250 module using HU250's WAN IP address.
HU250 LAN port (subnetwork 192.168.0.x) is strictly reserved for internal communications with SC150, SC160 and LV150 modules (see T300 user manual page 26 - chapter: "T300 Internal Architecture")

Hello Tomberry, I can't adjust the time of the computer that is monitoring the scada system using the NTP protocol of the T300. Please let me know about this.
T300 Can a normal computer be set to synchronous time?
SCADA is able to adjust the timing of other relays connected to the system.
