Easergy T300 - SC150 digital inputs/ digital outputs voltage treshold?
Dear all,
Does someone has information considering what is voltage treshold for digital inputs on SC150 module? Can it be 110Vdc? I can't find this information in the user manual.
Also, can SC150 module be used to command circuit breaker, which motor pack power supply is 110Vdc?
I would appreciate any information considering this topic.
Best Regards

Hi,
You have installation guide for each module, attached the SC150.
Do not feed any voltage to T300 inputs, you will use dry contacts, i.e. they are wetted inputs.

@JYPOC @jean-luc_batard @Paco , could any of your reply to this technical question about T300?.
Thanks and Best Regards,
Araceli Monje.

Hello,
As you have not described T300 hardware architecture, please confirm that you have:
- a local external 110 Vdc supply and no 220 Vac supply
- a 110 Vdc motor-operated MV switchgear,
- a PS50 to power T300 modules
If this information is correct then here are my comments:
- PS50 (power supply module)
- It can be supplied from an external source (110-220 Vac or 110-220 Vdc)
- It provides 3 specific DC outputs:
- 12 Vdc for T300 modules,
- 12 Vdc for an external modem
- 24 Vdc (or 48 Vdc) for motor supply (also: depending on the output required, the 24 or 48 Vdc can also supply Protection Relays).
- It will charge an external 12 V battery (typically 24 or 38 Ah) that will be used during power outages (especially if the external 110 Vdc power supply source disappears)
- HU250, SC150, SC160, LV150
- these modules must be supplied with a voltage comprised between 12 and 48 Vdc (so if you only have 110 Vdc available in the substation, the PS50 is mandatory).
- How does SC150 operate?
- DI
- In a typical MV secondary substation using standard MV switchgear, all MV switchgear status signals are dry contacts: that is why SC150/ SC160 DIs are wetted.
- If your MV switchgear provides 110 Vdc status output signals then you need interposing relays between SC150 wetted digital inputs and the 110 Vdc outputs coming from the MV switchgear.
- DO
- In a typical MV secondary substation using standard MV switchgear, the required motor supply is either 24 or 48 Vdc so that is what the PS50 motor output provides.
- If your MV switchgear operates only in 110 Vdc, you will connect SC150 DOs to this external 110 Vdc source. Of course, when you lose this 110 Vdc power source, you can no longer open or close the MV switchgear.
- DI
If, for historical reasons, an MV switchgear requiring a 110 Vdc power supply has been installed in a typical secondary MV/LV substation (so fitted with 220 Vac power source but no 110 Vdc source), there are two options:
- either replace the motor mechanism with a 24 or 48 Vdc operated one (preferred solution)
- or design a DC-DC converter able to satisfyingly convert, and in a sustainable way, the 24 or 48 Vdc output from the PS50 24 (or 48) Vdc output to 110 Vdc. Note that such a solution doesn't exist yet.
