Hi!
Where did Control Expert 16.1 go? Is there something we should know about regarding using it?
Kind regards
David

Subject : Important information on EcoStruxure Control Expert v16.1
Carros, March 12th, 2025
Dear Customer,
In the context of our continuous quality expectations, we have observed an anomaly with EcoStruxure
Control Expert V16.1.
As a consequence, this software version has been removed from worldwide distribution. Schneider
Electric is working on an amelioration for this anomaly which will be delivered with the release of EcoStruxure
Control Expert, V16.2.
If you have downloaded version 16.1, we ask you to refrain from using it until the next version is available.
In the meantime, we ask you to roll back to the previous version EcoStruxure Control Expert V16.0 with Hot Fix
001.
If you are using EcoStruxure Control Expert V16.1 in support of the newly released Modicon M580
Redundant CRA offer or the Edge Compute Node (ECN), or any other newly offered functionality unique to that
version, contact your local Schneider Electric support representative for more information.
Anomaly description:
This anomaly occurs when a Generic Modbus DTM is used in a control application.
When using the DTM browser in EcoStruxure Control Expert in online mode, for tasks such as verifying the
Generic Modbus DTM properties, and without need of modifying this DTM type itself, followed by an online build
change, a loss of data synchronisation with the DIO devices, which includes Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, and CIP
Safety devices occurs.
Further, in a Modicon M580 Safety configuration, the safety-related application is also rebuilt which results in a
change to the Safety Signature, requiring the safety-related application to necessarily be re-validated for the
purposes of certification.
Schneider Electric thanks you for your confidence and understanding and will strive to do its best to remain your
favorite automation provider.
We remain at your disposal for any further information.
Best regards

Schneider found some issue with 16.1 and pulled back the installation file. It will not be brought back. Next release, 16.2, should be available soon.

Ok, but what was the issue? Something that we need to know about when using it? Any public notice about it? It can't be a insignificant issue if they pull it...

There is bug in generic modbus DTM. If you use it you should downgrade ti 16.0 until 16.2 is available.
