Hi all, we are currently working on a project using M580 Safety. Initially there was no issue on the system configuration until our client started to increase the I/O count. Because of that, we need to insert addtional I/O modules by utilizing the available spare I/O slots.
However, we encountered this warning state on one of the power supply unit, "There is no matching replacement for this alimentation type". Instead of expanding the rack, kindly confirm whether it is safe for us to proceed with the system configuration. Thanks.

I run into this in the past as well. This is unfortunately one of the problems with M580/X80 system. The largest power supply is 40W (that's the one you are using) and with certain module configuration I was able to overload it (in theory) on 8-slot backplane. Not to even mention 10 slot or newly released 16 slot. X80 line critically needs larger power supplies. I said above in theory because I also get that warning but my system run stable. This calculation assumes maximum power draw by each module which rarely happens. That being said I run "overloaded" power supply without problems on my system which is NOT a safety system. In your case I would be hesitant to do this. Probably need to shuffle some module or split one rack into two.

Just for future reference you can see the power budget by right clicking on the power supply.

Hi @ciupol , thank you for your reply.
We did shuffle the I/O modules but the warning state persists. However, it resolved by adding new remote I/O drop. Thanks again.
