Hi,
a customer has updated his PM8240 power meters with firmware version 4.0.0. He now say that the standard security model can no longer be selected in ION setup and he must use the advanced security model Is this expected?
Also he found that after enabling advanced security, the Modbus access setting had to be enabled in order for ordinary data (currents, voltages etc) to be read from the meters (serial/RS485). Is this expected?
Thanks in advance

Hello @Windsor ,
The first question, Standard security model no longer available, yes this is expected and I believe part of the V3.0.0 what's new document.
The second question, Modbus access, depends a lot on what settings are used when configuring the advanced security. A step often missed is the modbus setting below. Newer versions of ION Setup will give a pop up reminding users that modbus will be disabled with this setting.
Regards,
Charles

Thanks for the quick reply @Charles_Murison . I had forgotten that the customer's meters were upgraded from V2 firmware directly to V4
