Hello,
We recently installed a PM8244 meter with RD96 display.
PM8000 firmware 004.000.000
Upon connection of the RD96 the screen reads Downloading Application 004 003 007
After a few minutes it changes to Downloading Error and the Display cannot be operated.
How can this be corrected?
Thank you.

Hello @dsantillan ,
When you connect to the meter with ION Setup or PME, there is a module called Factory. One of the output registers of this module is RMD serial number and RMD version. If the meter does not have this information it indicates that meter is not able to talk to the display.
The "system" has 3 parts, the meter, the display and the cable between display and meter. Hard to say if a specific one of these is misbehaving. If you have other meters with working displays it may be possible to switch 1 item at a time to test that item. For example start with cable, if both cables work with the reference test, then not the cable. Then try switching the displays. If the error follows the display, would suggest something happening with the display. If error follows meter, would suggest something happening with the meter.
Are you able to do such a test?
Regards,
Charles

Hello @dsantillan ,
Is the display also new? Are you able to communicate with the Meter? can meter read serial number of display?
Do you know firmware version of the display? (Display ad meter each have unique firmware).
Regards,
Charles

Hello Charles,
Thank you for the reply.
Yes, these are new were bought as PM8244. The box had the PM8000 and the RD96 in it.
Yes, PME read the meters them just fine. I can also access via IONSetup.
The meter does not read anything from the display.
Please find images from the display attached.

Make sure the display cable is plugged into the RMD port on the base unit (and not to the Ethernet TCP ports on the bottom side of the base unit). The cable you are using should also support PoE (Power over Ethernet) and should be connected directly to the base unit and not though any type of IT equipment like a router and/or switch.

Hello Charles,
Thank you for the input. For this specific case, new patch cords were required, and then a power cycle of the units.
Best regards,
Douglas
