We have a customer applying for a grant for sub-metering. They are looking for specific examples of energy savings resulting from metering in the food and beverage industry. This is tricky since it all depends on what the customer does with the data as opposed to changing a light bulb or retrofitting HVAC. I have lots of anecdotes but if anyone has a formal write-up, please share.

Metering is only the start. Where to put the meters and how to develop kpi's, analytics and data visualization and dashboards are more important higher level functions. It is very plant and process specific and also one may get data from existing machines if designed properly. Do they need stuff for the grant proposal ?
