Hi team;
SI said:
"In the installation manual it appears that the sensor loop must be fixed to the cable where it is going to be measured (as shown in the figure), but when we try to place it, there is no space to fix it (it remains as in the attached image).
What could we do in this case? Is it possible that it remains unfixed? Do you take the correct measurement?"
Please, thanks!

Hello Christian,
concerning installation:
Fix the cable make sense when the installation offer the possibility to do it but as you mention, it is not always possible.
The main objective of the installation is to minimize the influence of the two surrounding phases to the Rogowski loop of the measured one.
For this, two advices for your installation:
1) Check that the wires between the sensors and the PowerTag module are not in direct contact with one of the three measured phase conductor (picture1, extract from the instruction sheet)
2) Install the connection box of Rogowski loops for phase X and Z on the left and right sides and not in the middle to not be close to the conductor of the 2nd phase. (picture2)
Concerning accuracy :
Of course, the best accuracy for the current measurement is obtained with a conductor perfectly centered in the loop and perpandiculaire to this one. In this case accuracy will be very good and really better than 1%/class1 …but this setup can be created in laboratory and cannot not be reproduced easely in real and industrial use case.
So obviously, whatever the position of the cable in the loop, whatever the angle between the loop and the phase cable, "only" accuracy 1%/class1 according to standard IEC61557-12 is garranted by Schneider Electric
