Hi,
Is it possible on a PM8000 to record kWh on a different register, once one of its digital inputs has closed?
e.g. The PM8000 is measuring a common point on a change over switch (two in one out): Source 1= Mains power, Source 2= generator power. We would like to know what kWh has been produced by "mains" power and what kWh have been produced by "generator" power.
So I was hoping that with the inbuilt digital input we could tell the PM8000 that, input= closed source is mains power, input= open source is generator power.

Hi Nigel
I believe the feature you are looking for is called "Conditional Energy". You can configure it using ION Setup in the "Energy Applications" area and view the accumulation in the "Conditional Energy" tab in the Verification section (you may have to select "Normal Mode" and click Display)
This feature is described in the PM8000 user manual (7EN02-0336-01) on page 139 in the "Measurements" section.
Cheers,
Alana

You have plenty of the Integrator Module to do it. Just assign logic to do start/stop the integrator.

Thanks guys,
@Yut, does this logic module (VIP) sit locally on the PM8000, or is PME needed?

You can add this feature to meter's framework the output of the new integrator should connect to the data recorder too, see TOU framework inside PM8000 for example.
