PM5560 meter swap

Hello, currently a client has a PM5560 meter with a completely blank screen, however the meter does communicate to the PME. This meter is going to be replaced by another PM5560 and I would like to know what is the best or most transparent way to make this change so that, for example, the energy count can continue on the new meter, starting from where it left off on the old one PM5560.

Is this possible ? Is it possible to change the meter of the same model and for PME to practically "not feel the change"?.

Thanks. @Charles_Murison @Ricardo_RM

Hello @danielbarrantes

Yes, you can enter the present meter energy values in the new meter using "preset energy" option in ION setup.

Please note this preset energy feature in not done in ION setup for PM5560, you need to change the template option as "PM5340 v2013" and enter energy values manually.

Refer the screenshots for more details.

Also raise the TEX case for further analysis of blank screen meter.

Regards,

Hello @danielbarrantes ,

In PME, a like for like meter replacement should not have any trouble.

Sorry I do not know all the capabilities of the PM5000 series of meters. I have moved your post to the hardware forum as this is more meter specific than PME specific. I hope others in the forum can answer this question.

Regards,

Charles

Hello @danielbarrantes ,  I see from the modbus register map for the PM5560 there is a command for "Preset Accumulated Energy".

I have not done this process myself but it looks like it would be possible via these modbus commands.

This FAQ has more information on the meter's Semaphore which may be helpful as well.
