Hello experts,
Just want to ask assistance regarding the integration of our PM1200 to a third party Modbus Server (SIEMENS BMS).
The metering in this project is a combination of PM800 series and PM1200.
We used Modscan software to check the true value of PM1200 based on the MODBUS registry address in the same manner it was documented in our user guide
( PLSED309039EN 03/2013). Somehow it does not give the expected values (see attached pic).
Doing the same test procedure on the PM800 series, it works perfectly fine.
Is it right to say that PM1200 is not designed for direct integration with a third party MODBUS server?
Is there any settings on the PM 1200 power meter that needs to be done prior to the integration?
Your inputs are highly appreciated. Thanks.
Kind regards,

Hi,
Check your Modscan settings. It looks like you have it set to show integer values.
In Setup>Display Options> Select Floating Pt. If that doesn't return correct data try the other floating point options.
Background. The Modbus protocol really only describes reading and writing of registers. Device implementation determines what the registers contain. In the case of the PM1200 the registers are in groups of 2 and are structured as floating point numbers. The software has to aware of this and be able to translate appropriately.

Hi JEric, I moved your post to the Power Monitoring Hardware site - the people there should be able to assist with the answer.

Hi Jeric , PM1200 has RS485 modbus communication , which will communicate with all the Modbus software. Try selecting Display Option > Swapped FP in Modscan . You can also try testing with ION Setup.
