Hi,
We are communicating from PME to 5x ION9000 meters over ethernet. On loss of voltage phases, the meters remain powered as they should, and comms to PME keeps working as it should,
These meters are also communicating to SCADA over modbus.
4 of the meters are firmware v2.2.1, and on loss of phase voltage, the modbus comms continues to the SCADA as expected.
However...
1 of the meters is firmware 3.0.0, and on loss of voltage, the modbus comms drops out to the SCADA.
All 5 continue to communicate to PME over ION. All meters remain fully powered up.
My question is whether there has been any cyber enhancements or bugs that may be causing the modbus comms to drop on loss of phase voltage? Anyone experience this? Is there a fix/setting?
We're doing further investigating on site but any suggestions are welcome.

Hi Shaun - there is a chance that what you are seeing is described in this post. There is an upcoming firmware release that addresses it in the case that it is, but the post provides a few workarounds to try in the near-term.

Thanks Tom, it does sound like the issue could be caused by the same issue affecting the PM8000. I assume ION9000 shares the same framework issue.
We'll do some more investigation on site, and keep an eye out for the f/w update.
Regards
Shaun

Hi Shaun - it is a firmware issue, but one of the workarounds is in the framework. Firmware is shared across the ION9000/PM8000/ION7400, so typically when you see a version number 3.0.0 (ie) across these 3 families, you will find behaviour in common. The same goes for ION frameworks - built and released as a family of them.

When do you expect a new firmware version to be released that addresses this issue?
