Device: METSEION92030, Model: ION9200, Firmware: 004.000.000
Selecting the Revenue Lock switch from unlocked to locked, the Revenue lock LED behaviour flashes indicating that a new revenue lock status is pending, (see page 229 in the ION9000 User Manual), and requires a power cycle to accept. The meter external display 'locked' and 'unlocked' status doesn't change unless a power cycle is performed. Why is a power cycle required? For some customers power cycling the meter is not an option. Is there a method available that doesn't require a power cycle if the Revenue Lock switch status is changed?

Hello @Andrew_McCambridge ,
I do not know the reason why the power cycle is required but I do know there is no way around this other than to power cycle the meter.
Regards,
Charles

It is likely that the switch position is only read at device power up (otherwise, one could flip the switch on/off during programming and some changes would be accepted and others would not).
Typically when a utility wants to seal a device this is done *before* the meter goes into service (prior to being energized) when they apply the revenue sealing mechanism to the device.
