【ION9000】Maximum depth of saved log data

Hello,

I'd like some advice on a customer question.
We have started experiments with ION9000, but the test period will be long.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is there a limit to the amount of log data that can be acquired?

I changed logging settings on the ION9000.
・Log interval 1 min
・Log Depth 35 days
(24H x 60/1min x35 days =50,400)
I have confirmed that there is sufficient log memory remaining.

When I output the log data from the IONsetup data screens, The number of items output was 36,6000.
This means 23.3 days of data.
(24H x 60/1min x23.333 days =33,600)

Does this mean the max limit for storing log data is 36,600?
Or is it because the maximum number of images that can be displayed in IONsetup is 36,600?

I tried logging for several days, but the log output was 23,333 days.

Best regards,

Miyai

Hi @Miyai

This is not a limitation of the meter, but rather a display/export limit within ION Setup. Here's how it works:

Regarding ION9000 Meter logging capacity, the ION9000 meter itself can store much more than 33,600 records. Each Data Recorder in the ION9000 has a maximum depth size of 10 MB (10,485,760 bytes).

For example, a Data Recorder configured with 16 inputs can store up to approximately 97,089 records.

Note: As the number of input sources increases (up to 50 linked sources in firmware version V4.6) the allowable depth value decreases accordingly.

The actual logging capacity depends on:

- The log depth configured in the Data Recorder module.
- The available memory in the meter.
- The number of parameters being logged.

A configuration such as 1-minute intervals over 35 days (i.e., 50,400 records) is valid as long as sufficient memory is available.

Regarding ION Setup Display/Export Limit, the 33,600 record limit you're seeing is not a limitation of the meter, but rather a display/export limit in ION Setup. This limit can be manually increased by editing the .pml file associated with the data recorder view.

To increase the limit, navigate to:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\ION Setup\Tables\<MeterType>\<TemplateVersion>\Data Recorders
In this example:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Schneider Electric\ION Setup\Tables\PML9000\Standard V4.6.0 Default\Data Recorders

Open the relevant .pml file (e.g., Revenue Log.pml) using Notepad, and locate and modify the line: ROWS=33600

Mehran_Mehrnia_0-1759849403716.png

You can increase this value depending on your needs (e.g., ROWS=50400 for 35 days of 1-minute data).

Save the file and reconnect the meter in ION Setup.

Please note that increasing the number of rows may impact performance, especially when displaying or exporting large datasets.

Best Regards,

-Mehran

Hi, @Mehran_Mehrnia

Thank you for your support.
I changed IONsetup settings and confirmed changes in the log output.

Best regards,

Miyai
