Extract Data Recorder registers in PM8000/ION9000 with modbus protocol

Hi!

I am looking at the ION8650 modbus protocol document on page 82 appendix B, the information shown there is to read a recorder through the modbus protocol, perform a routine and it worked but when trying to perform the same query on a PM8000/ION9000 it did not work.
Is there any document that contains the necessary information to perform these same queries via modbus?

Hello @Roberto_Ruiz

PM8000 and ION9000 do not support reading data recorders through Modbus at this time. Some modbus registers have been reserved for a possible future feature.

Regards,

Charles

Hello @Charles_Murison , Thank you for your prompt reply.

I was testing with the Log Export Module, what I know is that it can send via email the selected recorder every so often in an xml file, but I can not get the meter to connect to my SMTP server, because I do not know where to put the authentication credentials, I saw another post and they said a simple SMTP, but my SMTP server asks me the credentials strictly. Could you help me to configure them? I have only managed to see the configuration to put the server address, but I do not see the credentials. Or are these options enabled by license and how can I check if my license is valid?

Thanks

Hello @Roberto_Ruiz ,

The Log export module for ION9000 and PM8000 meters does not support authenticated SMTP. You would need to reach out to your local sales representative to request they create a feature request. Feature requests from all over the globe get funneled and the team at Schneider use a number of metrics to determine priority and order for features to get put into future firmware. Long way to say even if feature request is created not a guarantee will be in a future firmware.

Regards,

Charles

Hi @Charles_Murison ,Thank you for your suggestion.

I set up an SMTP server as instructed and it works. An email arrives with an attachment with an “mma” extension, I think it is the xml you mention. I would like to know if there is any documentation about the structuring of the “mma” file in order to be able to interpret it correctly and avoid errors with it.

Thanks

Hello @Roberto_Ruiz ,

I do not remember any specific document on the structure of the file but I remember it being pretty obvious when looking at contents of the file.

Regards,

Charles
