You can change the Telnet port number on the ION8650 using ION Setup. You may need to update to the latest version of ION Setup and have recent ION8650 firmware loaded on your meter.
1. Connect to your meter using ION Setup
2. Open the Setup Assistant for your meter
3. Go to Communications > Network Settings and select the Protocols tab.
4. Select Telnet from the list and click Edit.
The Telnet protocol information is displayed. You can enable/disable and change the port number by entering a different number in the Port Number field.
