Advanced Security Password Updater for ION devices
A new feature has been implemented in the past few builds and I think it is now ready to be rolled out (get the latest version from here in the Installers/Updated Versions folder):
Advanced Secuirty Password Updater
This feature allows for complete updating of all Advanced User passwords within all ION devices defined in the system if the user chooses to update them. Primarily targetting utility applications, I believe it is also applicable for any customer with cyber security concerns/policies in place.
The updater can be accessed using the following steps:
1. Highlight the System icon in the network viewer. Press either the stethoscope icon on the toolbar or select Tools -> Diagnostics from the menu.
2. Click on the Tools tab and click on the "Advanced Security Password Updater" in the listbox and select Open.
A full list of all ION devices defined in the network viewer will be shown.
Select all device(s) you wish to update passwords for making sure they are checked and set the user#/password of the super-user for each of those device(s) (the super-user has security rights to modify passwords). Once all that information has been set, press Start to proceed to entering the new passwords.
Next for each defined user, you may enter a new password which will apply to all new devices.
NOTE: This feature is meant to only update existing advanced ION security users/passwords. It will not update their rights/create new users or turn on/off Advanced Security Use the setup assistant security wizard to accomplish this.
