We have only used this display once, long ago. I would like to confirm a few things:
1) They are meant to be programmed with HVAC ecostruxure machine expert
2) They are compatible with both TM171 and TM172 line (as long as hte PLC has Modbus)
3) This is only an opinion what I request, but we are being asked to place one of this inside a place which is quite dusty (actually it is powder milk in suspension). Besides the fact that the sensors might get blocked or become useless, is there anything else I should take care of ? Would a regular HMI be a better solution ? They only need to take a look at a couple of variables.

Hi @otrotabi
The TM172D range of colour touch display is programmed using the EcoStruxure Machine Expert HVAC and is meant to communicate with the M172 controller or any other devices using Modbus Serial.
When we worked with the TM172DCLWT a few years ago , this was the only display available then we launch the TM172DCLFW and the TM172DCLFG that does not have any sensor embedded, so any of those can be a solution. Another cheaper (i guess) could be the TM172DGRP but you will need to check if this one is available in Argentina.
If you use an HMI programmed in Vijeo Designer (basic) or EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert i believe this solution could a little bit more expensive than using the display for the M172 offer but check it with your Schneider sales team.
Best regards,

Thanks for your answer.
We are currently looking for an alternative to the TM171DLED which allowed us to have a flush interfase with the TM171 line. What we need is something we can mount on a chiller and is visible to an operator without the need to open a panel door.
Both the TM171DLED and the embedded display TM171OF22R are not available locally, although as far as I know they are not officially discontinued by SE internationally.
I like TM172DCLWT but I have not figured out yet a good way to both mount and protect it for this particular use.
I just found that there is something called XBTN and XBTR small panels which can work with a Zelio relay for example. Have you ever used them ? Is it possible to connect them with a TM171 ?

Hi @otrotabi ,
The family range XBTN is discontinued and we use the HMISTO7 range instead. This newer HMI is programmed in EcoStruxure Operator Terminal Expert and you will need a license for it , please check my next FAQ:
https://www.se.com/uk/en/faqs/FAQ000229667/
In your case, it will be good to have one software to program the solution like using the TM172DCLFG which is similar as the TM172DCLWT but without the sensors and different mounting more close to an standard HMI.

Hi,
check if TM172DCLFG is available:
https://www.se.com/ww/en/product/TM172DCLFG/modicon-m172-display-color-touchscreen-grey/
It is the flush mounting version of TM172DCLWT (without sensors and RTC).
Another flush mounting display is TM172DGRP, but it has to combined to a TM172 (connection is through CAN bus).
