I was successful installing the product, however all the git menus are greyed out.
Does anybody use Git with ME? What is the experience?
What could be the reason for the inactive menus? We have a license and actively use Subversion with ME.

Thanks. Yes I did check documentation. We use SVN but we are on ME V2.0.x because of big problems with upgrading. SVN support in V2.0 is super buggy. Also
I tried ME 2.2.2 now and our ME->M251 communication is crashing when debugging our project so that we have to power cycle the controller to get any it back. And the Git menus are gray. (There is no reason everything should be gray). I suspect it's licensing is the issue: On codesys store for GIT there is:
If not using CODESYS Installer the user must install them manually.
CODESYS License Provider (ID “CODESYS.LicenseProvider”) or OEM equivalent
CODESYS License Provider Enabler (ID “CODESYS.LicenseProviderEnabler”)
CODESYS Licensing Support (ID “CODESYS.Licensing.Support”)
Maybe codesys support would know...

I'm trying to evaluate ME Git support as well and have the same issue.
Anyone have a solution?

A license or demo-license can be obtained in the CODESYS online store. As I understand it the license can currently only be applied using a CODESYS USB dongle hardware-based license manager that can be purchased from the CODESYS store. It seems that there is no way to activate the license using a software only license manager like the Schneider Electric License Manager. This means that in order to evaluate the Git addon in Machine Expert, at least the CODESYS Key USB dongle needs to be purchased, which currently costs €40.

I found that installing CODESYS and the included Code Meter software license manager allows for activation of the demo license which is recognized by Machine Expert. I'd suggest to not install the CODESYS gateway as I've heard that it interferes with the Machine Expert gateway.
I've already found a number of quirks that prevents smooth operation of the git add-on.
