Remote IO variables' topological addressing
Hi Experts,
Previously, I used to have the IO card on the same rack as the PLC, which could be addressed topologically, e.g. %I1.4.0, or %Q1.7.0.
In current project, there is a remote IO card on a X80. The only way I could allocate the IOs is through the "Alias of" and finding the position of the IO inside the cards. The help file says, the correct terminology is %I\2.1\0.1.0, which doesn't work.
The reason I prefer the topological addressing is because I can use the same variables' addresses in the HMI. However, in my current addressing, I have to create new variables on memory and copy these IO cards to new variables, to transfer to the HMI.
In the setting, I tried changing the IO date type to topological.
Can anyone help me to get the correct addressing syntax for the remote IO cards?
