Position based switching
Hello,
new to the forum, and quite new to PLC's in general.
I'm trying to find the right hardware solution to my problem:
I'm building a machine which has a 88 valves on a single moving axis. The axis moves around 0.2 m/s, I need to switch all 88 valves based on a loaded program at the exact right moment, based on an encoder output. Seeing I want them to switch every 2.5 millimeter, this works out to a switching rate of 80 times per second.
I had the Modicon M241 in mind, but digging in to the matter, I can't find out if the PLC can tackle this problem, or if a CNC controller is more suited. What kind of hardware would be suited for my problem?
