I am new to PLC/Schneider products. I am trying to connect a HMISTW6400 (which is a web client) to the M262 web server which presents the web visualization project and I get a ERR_CERT_COMMON_NAME_INVALID error.
I suspect this problem:
1- The HMISTW6400 can only connect to a web server using the HTTP protocol and not the HTTPS protocol because it is not supported. See EIO0000003790_03 Harmony STW6 User Manual, page 101:
2- The M262 web server should be selectable as non-secure (HTTP) or secure (HTTPS) as documented in EIO0000003651.04 Modicon M262 Logic/Motion Controller Programming Guide, page 119:
3- However, when I try to select the Web Server (HTTP) instead of Secured Web Server (HTTPS) in Machine Expert, I don’t see the “Web Server (HTTP)” in the protocol list as follows:
4- As a result, when I get the page using HTTP from a PC browser, the page is redirected (status 307) in HTTPS:
5- I get this error from the HMISTW6400 (see the ULR with https):
Is my hypothesis the root cause of the problem? If so, how can I get the “Web Server (HTTP)” in the protocol list as documented in the Modicon M262 Logic/Motion Controller Programming Guide? If I am wrong, how can I connect the HMISTW6400 to my visualization project via the web server?
Thanks for your help,
JS

Hello,
HTTP is deactivated on the most newer SE Products regarding cyber security.
You use an old Manual, EIO0000003651.10 would be the actual one. HTTP request will always be forwarded to HTTPS. Regarding to this point the Web HMI is in your case not useable. It is planned to offer in the future a new version with the same reference which support HTTPS.
In my personal opinion i would suggest use not the WebHMI use the standart HMI. Included in Machine Expert is also a Basic license for Operator Terminal Expert. The capabilities for Visualisiation is in Operater Terminal Expert much higher. The normal HMI bring you the optional to share the screen also as Webvisu.
