Copy and paste (Excel) Ecostruxure HVAC
I am posting this for anyone else facing the same issue and for my own future reference.
Copy and paste from project to project is very much straightforward as long as they are both for the same family of PLCs.
1) Select rows ---> right click "copy" in the original project
2) On the destination project, select a row and paste.
If the variables already existed, there will be another set of variables created:
Using Excel, it is possible to modify some of the fields, so for example you may want to edit default values in an excel sheet.
Step 1 is the same as before.
2) Paste in Excel: Select a cell and paste in the cell
3) Copy in excel and modify as needed. Then select the cells or the rows "BUT" the trick here seems to be having exactly the same format as the format of the original file rows. So basically it means you need to have some content on the last two columns, "Description" and "Note". It looks as if these columns have no data, pasting the data will not work. (Note: I have chosen to show all columns here, not sure if that matters anyway). Right click on the columns' names to display the pop-up.
Modify as needed and paste as before.
Last case would be exporting to TM172 to TM171O. In the TM171O line, there is another column which has the data needed to be able to access the variables in the menus. So, basically what needs to be done is move the data in columns "D" and "E" to columns "E" and "F". Optionally you may want to assign their nicknames or "Display Labes" here as well.
Then paste as always. Before you do that, make sure that the destination project target is a TM171O.
This post is derived from this original post. There is a bug/missing feature in the software that does not allow an automatic migration from TM172 to TM171O (migrating to TM171P seems to work fine).
