Implement a VSS writer to enable consistent, performant backups

The backup object is great, but especially with virtualised servers IT teams want to be able to use their standard backup imaging software that relies on VSS.

I imagine a VSS writer would only need to trigger the same state that the backup object does, it just needs to interface with the VSS API.

We at hunter water are very reliant on our IT teams for back ups. Many servers all virtualised. We would welcome this.
