I recognize ongoing support of IsaGraf based ScadaPack 300-series Modbus RTUs is lower priority than new products/features, but the inability to embed source code onto RTUs for upload later in Workbench 6 is a real bummer, and a deal breaker for many of my end users who I'm still supporting in IsaGraf workbench 3.55 and WinXP 32-bit VMWare images.
Please consider restoring the ability to embed/upload source code on the older hardware.
Aww man... I had a good reply, and then this forum threw it out with an 'Authentication Mismatch'.
So... you're a bit short on full details.
Is it an E-series or a Non-E-series Workbench that you're referring to?
Is it TARGET 3 or TARGET 5?
I'll assume both E-Series and TARGET 5 and then we'll see how far we get on the others.
So, this is supported.
If you go to the following section in the Help, it might.... help??
Target 5 Technical Reference Manual > Application Management > Storing a Project on the RTU
On the Resource Property pane, you will find an option called 'Embedded Zip Source', this defaults to 'None'. If you change this, it will give you what you want I believe.
Settings that make the most sense are:
'Project' if you have a single Device and a single Resource in your Project.
'Device' if you have multiple Devices and single Resources in your Projects.
'Resource' if you have multiple Resources that you use (since otherwise one Resource is likely to have a stale Project, which == danger zone).
Then, on the context menu for a Resource you should find the 'Upload' option. This will upload the zipped source associated with that Resource / Target.
I think with E-series RTUs once you download the zipped source, you could probably use DNP3 File Transfer to retrieve it also (I've never done this myself, and the help says you can't... but I don't trust the help on this particular point). I've used DNP3 File Transfer to retrieve the I5P many times when I didn't trust that I had the latest project backup.
For the TARGET 3 world... Hmm... Interesting... no E-series available.
And as far as I can tell no ability here to store the project to the controller.
I assume that Non-E-Series and TARGET 5 would be the same as the E-Series, and you could Embed Zip Source. Perhaps you could let us know?
Moving forward, our development resources are being focused on the SCADAPack x70 RTU line and RemoteConnect programming platform. There will be no more product development work on the SCADAPack 300 series RTUs and attendant programming apps such as ISaGRAF, so unfortunately we cannot accommodate your request.
However, thank you for your request and for taking the time to reach out to us on this topic.
