Remote Desktop and the Server Icon

Due to the way that Windows Remote Desktop works, earlier versions of ClearSCADA (versions up to and including ClearSCADA 2007 R0) may experience problems with displaying the Server icon. When Windows Remote Desktop connects to another PC, it creates a copy of the other PC's desktop. This copy is then used remotely. As the server icon is only associated with the original version of the desktop, this means that the server icon is not shown on the 'copy' of the desktop - the 'copy' is regarded as a separate Windows session. This problem is easy to resolve. All you need to do is:
mstsc /console
This sets your computer to access the actual desktop of another PC instead of creating a 'copy' of the other PC's desktop on your PC.

Only 1 user can access the server in console mode at a time
In later versions of ClearSCADA, the server icon runs as a separate application and so should always be visible (if it is not shown, you can run the server application from the Start menu in the same way as you would run any other application).
