📖HomeBack When a user takes exclusive control of an object, there are four ways that control can be released.
When the controlling user specifically selects Release Exclusive Control.
When the user logs out of ViewX (or is logged out due to inactivity).
When the user who has control of an object closes ViewX (the same as logging out).
When another user with "Manage Exclusive Control" security privilege forces that control to be released. This is the main area of confusion in exclusive control functionality.
When configuring security for a specific user group, generally ensure that the "Manage Excl. Ctrl" tick box is not ticked. This option enables users to release Exclusive control from other users and is typically a management level function.
