📖HomeBack If ClearSCADA is running on a Windows 2000 machine and performance monitor objects are configured to monitor other computers on the network, the Performance Monitor driver (NTMon) will not reconnect to the remote computers if the network connection fails. All Performance monitor scanners will remain in the failed state after the network connection is re-established.
Restarting the Performance Monitor driver re-establishes the connection.
The problem is within the Microsoft Performance Data Helper DLL on Windows 2000. This problem does not exist in more recent operating systems such as Windows XP or 2003 Server. The issue only occurs if the ClearSCADA server is running on a Windows 2000 computer. The version of the operating system of the computer being monitored is not a contributing factor.
The solution is to run the ClearSCADA server(s) under Windows XP or 2003 Server. Under these operating systems, the Performance Monitor driver will correctly re-establish communication to computers running any support operating system (including Windows 2000).
