📖HomeBack The easiest way to create an object menu is to use the Pick Action Wizard to select the template folder as the target object for the object menu. Unfortunately with this method, once the template is instantiated, the object menu will refer to the template rather than the newly created instance.
The process below describes how to simply make this work.
Create a template
Add a button to the Default mimic in the template
Configure a pick action on this button to show an object menu and select the template as the target object
Create a New Parameter -> Link in the template and set the Link property of the link parameter to be the template group.
Ensure the button is highlighted on the mimic
Drag the Link parameter from the Database Bar onto the button and select the PickParam option from the list displayed.
Save the mimic.
Create an instance of the template and verify that the instance folder is the target of the displayed object menu.
Setting the PickParam animation allows the target of the object menu to be dynamically updated for each instance.
This is not an issue with other objects inside or outside of the template, only the template group object itself. Other object menus can be configured simply using the pick action wizard as is normally the case.
