Please read the information below prior to installing SCADA Expert ClearSCADA 2015 R1.1 for important information on any known issues.
A problem has been identified within WebX clients after upgrading to the Windows 10 Creators update build 1703 whereby the scroll bars on an embedded list control (e.g. SQL Query, Event List, Alarm List on a mimic) in WebX no longer work as expected. We are actively working with Microsoft on this problem, which has been recently confirmed as an issue in MS Internet Explorer. MS Issue Reference: REG 117052415792436.
Current advice for ClearSCADA customers using WebX is that they should avoid upgrade of their Windows 10 clients to Creators Update build 1703 until this issue is resolved.
_Customers impacted by the above are encouraged to raise this directly to Microsoft via their Support Channels, quoting the Issue Reference: REG 117072016066603, to help facilitate a timely resolution._
Recent testing has uncovered a potential work-around; when using Google Chrome browser and the IE Tab Extension (which simulates an Internet Explorer browser) version 10.7.31.1 we were able to successfully use the embedded mimic's scrollbars. The following considerations apply:
Thanks for your support, but overall we apologize for any inconvenience.
The following issues have been identified regarding All Window Favourites (aka Super Favourites), whereby the windows are not restored as saved. Specifically:
Databases that have an excessive number of objects, or objects within a flat database hierarchy, may experience delays when attempting to execute one of the following:
These delays may cause ViewX to display a 'busy' icon while this action is performed, but should remain responsive for further user input. Once the executed action is complete, the respective Database or OPC Explorer will display the target object.
The command line parameter "/head:" has been removed from ViewX after ClearSCADA 2013 R2. This has been replaced by "/instance:" for multiple instances, and with "/startup:" for enhanced multi-monitor functionality, where is the location of a startup configuration file. Guidance on migrating between the old ViewX command line parameters and the new multi-monitor options is available in the ViewX Upgrade Notes.
More information on the improved multi-monitor support can be found within the ClearSCADA 2015 R1 online help guide under: Core Reference > Client Administration > Client Administration Guide - Launch a ViewX Client on a Multi-Monitor Setup.
ViewX now enforces a maximum limit of 100 open windows. Any system previously configured for 0 (and hence unlimited) windows will now be set to 100. Attempts to exceed the configured limit will result in normal Maximum Window behaviour requesting a user to close an existing window to proceed.
The following time format symbols are no longer supported in ViewX (from ClearSCADA 2014 R1 onwards) due to their inconsistency with the .NET Time Format. This does not impact the operation of the ClearSCADA Server or the validity of any time/date formatting, but any use of the following time format symbols should be removed to ensure correct display of date/time to the user:
Symbol | Meaning | Presentation | Example |
---|---|---|---|
e | day of week (1~7) | (Number) | 2 |
D | day of year | (Number) | 189 |
F | day of week in month | (Number) | 2 |
w | week in year | (Number) | 27 |
W | week in month | (Number) | 2 |
k | hour in day (1~24) | (Number) | 24 |
K | hour in am/pm (0~11) | (Number) | 0 |
When upgrading from previous versions of ClearSCADA (prior to ClearSCADA 2014 R1) any user-specific ViewX display settings will be lost. This includes, but is not limited to; layout of Toolbars, width/visibility of the Database and other Explorers, and the position of the Alarm Banner.
Translated strings for a user with the user set to the locale for those translations, a trend created and an internal digital point's processed history trace added to it. Annotations are then added to the trend with the translation string: @this. ViewX and old WebX displayed the translation for @this correctly, but new WebX displays @this instead of the translation for @this.
A problem with exporting Crystal Reports on Windows 8 and 8.1, and Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2 has been identified. It is triggered by the report containing Boolean parameters with the "Exclusive group" option enabled. Subject to confirmation the likely cause is the SAP crystal runtime rather than ClearSCADA 2015 R1.1.
On a clean installation of SCADA Expert ClearSCADA 2015 R1.1, the classes for OPCDA, OPCAE and OPCHDA are not registered. The user would need to open the Client Configuration dialog and click OK on the configured connection for the classes to be registered. This was changed to add support for the Systems.xml file.
Installation of Microsoft Redistributable packages have been found to intermittently terminate prematurely when running on a PC with limited available system resources, which causes the ClearSCADA installation to be aborted. Running the ClearSCADA installation again has shown good success in resolving these intermittent installation problems, although may have to be repeated a number of times if the errors persist.
The following problems were identified:
