📖HomeBack Filtering of events and alarms based on AOI is handled differently depending on whether you are filtering alarms or events.
For alarms, the AOI is hierarchical. This means that if you include the World group in the filter, all the alarms in World and all its sub groups will be displayed.
For events, the AOI is a flat structure and you need to allow for this in the filters used. If you specify a filter to show events in the World group, you will only get events in the World group. This is because the WHERE clause of the SQL statement is formed up such that you only get events where the AOI is equal to World.
WHERE "AreaOfInterest" = 'World'
To obtain similar functionality to the alarm list, it is important to use the Begins With option in the filter dialog as this will include each sub-AOI of the top level AOI selected.
