Use Panel Server as a gateway to have FDM128 displaying Smartlink Modbus

Hi the experts,

I would like to use FDM128 to display information from Smartlink Modbus connected to Panel Server.

FDM128 does support Smartlink Modbus, but PAS v1.3.2 does NOT.

Does that mean I cannot use PAS as a gateway in this case?

Could you please confirm?

Regards

Hi @Jean_Trial ,

Panel Server with firmware 1.3.2 can be used for such application. Lack of support for Smartlink Modbus in PAS v1.3.2 means that it will not be possible to view Smartlink’s data in PAS embedded webpages, but the Modbus Gateway feature works for all Modbus RTU devices connected to it (supported, not supported, 3rd party). In that case you can connect your Smartlink to serial port of PAS and then connect PAS with FDM128 in the same Ethernet network. FDM should read Smartlink’s registers directly, using PAS as a transparent gateway.

Best regards

Hello @Jean_Trial ,

I confirm this is working well with PAS600 v001.003.002 + FDM128 v8.0.28.

My architecture is the following:

  1. FDM128 connected to an ETH Switch
  2. PAS600L connected to the same ETH Switch
  3. Smartlink Modbus connected to the Serial Port of the PAS600L
  4. Reflex iC60 and Acti9 MCB connected to the IO Channels of the Smartlink Modbus

With this architecture I can view the status of the OF/SD on the FDM128 screen and I can also control my Reflex iC60.

I recommend to have:

  • Panel Server upgraded to 001.003.002
  • FDM128 upgraded to v8.0.30

Regards,
