If I connect an EGX 100 to the second ethernet port of a COM'X can I still get to the meter data via its IP address?

I have a site where the customer has a COM'X 200and an EGX.

The meters are connected to the EGX, and are communicating fine.

The Com'X is connected to the SIte LAN on port 1, with the EGX connected on Port 2.

Can I connect to the EGX from a PME server to read meter info as i can if the Com'x was not there?

Hello Andrew

The answer depends on the type of "Network Setttings" that you have selected.

• If you select a "2 separate ports" configuration, your Com'X will be a network separator.
  In that configuration the Com'X will not route any packet between Ethernet port 1 and Ethernet port 2.
  As a consequence the PME server (connected on the Ethernet port 1 Network ) will not be able to read any data from the EGX
• If you select a "2 switched ports" configuration, your Com'X will be a switch.
  In that configuration the Com'X will pass any packet between Ethernet port 1 and Ethernet port 2.
  As a consequence the PME server will be able to read any data from the EGX
