Custom device type EGX300 (FW4.400 DIV4.450)

Hello,

There is a very good document that expains to make custom device types for EGX but I can't see these custom made devices in the device list...  Working on EGX300 FV4.400 and DIV4.450

I follow the procedure and the test of the reading blocks works...

ScreenHunter_37 Jan. 29 14.38.gif

But in the device list I can't find the custom made device... It's also not available on the page where you an enable the device types...

I have cleared my cache tried with the IE and with Chorme, but no succes...

I need a driver for the iEM2150 because this device is not supported in EGX300 and they will not add this device in future firmware updates....

Any suggestions...

Kind regards

Koen

Hi Adrian,

Maybe you remember: I had the same problem. It was introduced with the firmware V4.380!

KOEN ROWIES : The only thing that helped me to solve the problem was to save all custom device drivers. Then delete all of them and finally import the device type you need. One problem is, if you need more than one custom device type in your application!

Best Regards

Daniel

James Jeanette : When will all the reported problems finally be fixed (Micrologic H over IFE which doesn't work, problem above with custom device types...)? I'm aware that you don't like to do any further development on EGX300 as you like to switch to Com'X510. But there are still many existing sites that are already equipped with EGX300. For these sites we should at least provide a 100% working firmware to the customer!

Thanks

Daniel

On your Custom Device Editor press "Apply" to end and save the custom device.

This will save and add the Custom Device to the Custom Device Types list. Is it possible that you didn't save it?

After, make sure that in Settings page > Viewable Device Types you see your custom device and is checked.

Let me know the results after these.

Hello Adrian,

I have saved the driver and even exported it. When I go back to the custom device type  page the driver is in the list

But I can't see it in the viewable device types and I can't select it in the device list....

OK!

Phase 2:

1) Export Custom Device

2) Remove Custom Device

3) Import Device Type

Not sure if you have to do this for all your Custom Device Types from the list, but one of our colleagues did it for all and re-imported, then it worked again.

Hi Daniel ... thanks for bringing this back.

Upgrading from firmware 4.380 to 4.400, an EGX300 will lose Custom Devices from Devices List.

Yes, I remember you had the same issue.

I confirm that the solution is: to first export all custom devices (Export Custom Device, one by one), then delete all (Remove Custom Device, one by one) and last step re-import them (Import Device Type, one-by-one).

I think that me and Koen were too tired and frustrated to post the end of story

Hello Daniel/all.

I do not recall these two mentioned issues (Micrologic H over IFE which doesn't work, problem above with custom device types...) with the EGX300 v4.450 reaching me.  Are there bFo support tickets assigned?  If so, please share so I can ensure our team has reviewed.

Thank you,

James

It was hard to find the original stories, so here are 2 new fresh for your reference:

BFO #25722450: EGX300 - Fw. V4.400, Dupd. V4.450: Micrologic H IFE/IFM Real Time values show "Out of order"

BFO #25722883: EGX300 - Fw. V4.400, Dupd. V4.450: Custom devices lost from the Devices List after upgrading from firmware 4.380 to 4.400

Regards,

Adrian
