Any update on drivers for common devices like CM2000, PM600, Original Enercept Meters and so on.
1. Are they that hard to make?
2. Is there a tool that developers use to do this?
3. Can we get this data so we can field create these devices?
I would think that making new devices would be rather easy. Take an existing meter, change its name
and registers and BING out comes a new device type. Why is this not so?
I believe we could sell more of these it we could field create our own devices in the field that would show
up devices gauge / table area and allow for standard logging of quantities. Been asking about this for
months.
Any takers.

Good to converse with you. I'm with you Brother. I hear they used to have someone dedicated to adding drivers for new and old metering applications. I'm assuming someone felt those $'s are better spent in Marketing -vs- End users and Customer equipment support. But that is the thinking in today's business strategy delivery system.
Increase Marketing to drive sales and push more and more development back down the food chain to their distributors and end users. I do miss the old Square D days, when their flexibility was swift and customer driven. I see a migration to systems like the old GE and I don't think that is bad for cost containment (mind you we just had another 5% increase) but the loss of that Power Logic "get it done, make the customer happy" seems to have been lost in the Schneider acquisition. Probably just a sign of the times, we will be in the same boat as we are getting the 15-kv recloser project and will need to bring that unit into PME 8.1.
If you remember we were discussing this at the Boston campus, so we will soon have to develop the modbus drivers for the Schneider/Nulec recloser controller so we can treat it like a power meter on customers main power dashboard.
I hear you load and clear on your query.

Having more drivers will help with MARKETING the thing. The Com X 510 is the GATEWAY drug for power monitoring pushers. More drivers will open the market for more customers.
Powers-That-Be at Schneider need to realize what an untapped established base of legacy devices at customers sites that are WAITING for a simple monitoring and reporting appliance at a reasonable cost.
The ComX510 is this device. I can't believe that it would take so long or cost so much to add drivers. Take existing drives and change the registers and device type names. You would think it would be this easy.
Send me the tools to make these and I will do them at home on my own time. Just can't be that difficult...
Thanks,
