Any way to use grid connected system during blackouts?
I have a 12kW roof-mounted PV net metering system. Installed in 2013 with Mitsubishi panels and Enphase m215 micro inverters. It works great, no complaints.
However, I started looking into getting a whole house back-up generator and was wondering if there is any way to upgrade/modify my existing PV system to provide emergency back-up power directly to my house during extended blackouts? If so, what is appx cost of doing so? I am located in the SW USA.
